Isaac's relationship with the drums began when he was still in diapers. His attraction to keeping time started with upside-down pots and pans on his grandparents' kitchen floor. By the time he was behind a real kit at his family's church, the feel was already there. Before he could name a rudiment or read a chart, he was learning the most important lesson in music: groove. Gospel drumming taught him to breathe with the congregation, to hold the pocket like a prayer, and to know when to push and when to pull back. By the time he graduated high school, he was the first call for half the working bands in his hometown.
